Home on the range

Today is my first day as an unemployed woman. After working at the same company for almost three years, it became clear it wasn’t the best working environment. I would like to say I am angry, mad, bitter; but, I don’t know. I am actually ok with it. I was struggling to stay alive in a position that would eventually result in nothing.

Tractor ride
So to get over my pained heart, I hopped in the tractor with my man and discussed this blog. We asked questions like:

  • What’s the point of this blog?
  • What am I going to write about?
  • Will this be a good use of my time?

Not sure, don’t know, heck yes!

  1. I’m looking forward to reading more! My husband is a country man too – I just don’t divulge much about it in our blog! We’re from Minnesota originally so I know I’ll love all of these South Dakota images! Don’t take those acres of undisturbed grasses, trees and creeks for granted! Enjoy them, if not for yourself – for me!

  2. I must admit that I’m not sure how I got here exactly. Just spending a bit of time while my kids do their homework to see what other people are blogging about. I suppose I was drawn into your blog because I started out a country girl, became a big city business professional and then gave it up to go back to a simpler life. I’m convinced that there is great happiness in the little things and I’ve very much enjoyed poking around your posts to see that you have found some in your own life. I just had to read this one which seems to be your first post to find out where your journey began….. huh! Left your job! Well isn’t karma an interesting beast?

    • Well hello friend! Thanks for stopping in. I also love to go back to a blogger’s first post and see how it all started. A year ago in August was a rough season, but I wouldn’t trade that negative work environment for the peace being home brings. It was a wonderful learning experience while I was there. Thank you again for checking out my little space here!
