beauty in the shadow of doubt

Can she still be loved, the uncertain one?

The one with too many questions…

The one who is not denying the doubt-cry one day more.

Can she still love, she without the inspired brand of faith?

This adventure, the pursuit of truth and freedom.

Freedom to follow the heart’s wondering, wandering kind.

There is no unseeing the seen.

Woe to the one who strays, who’s mind is never satisfied.

A lonely, wild journey lies ahead…

But it has to be done.

So well put. I really like that. I have come to see doubt as intregal to faith. Sometimes in the journey a moment of doubt leads to rethinking a strongly held yet false belief. We have to keep questioning; otherwise, I think there is the risk of becoming blind in our faith, of believing more in a ‘belief in our beliefs’ than in the one who sustains us. Risky business none-the-less.

  2. If you allow it, the seen can become faded in time…For me, forgiveness was the ultimate challenge, and although my faith was tested, it wound up stronger in the end. Those few words bring up such raw, physical emotion. Well done.

  3. I really don’t know what to say. Your words reach me in such a deep level, I can feel them. Expressions like “There is no unseeing the seen” and “Can she still love, she without the inspired brand of faith?” have such a sting, I can relate to. Your poetry is wonderful!!!
